Sidewalks (Press)

The chilly winter wind
has blown away my
spirit, and
the hollowness inside
this fragile frame
leaves me sick.
My thoughts echo
and bounce
in that dark empty space
pounding and pounding
weakening me slowly
until I fall
down, defeated.

Life goes on,
moving quickly,
for everyone else
as my dull eyes
watch them
walking away.

I like the title change. I think this one is better suited to the poem. I love this poem too. It's sad, but you express it in such an awesome way!

Wow, I really like this poem, esperanza! It so clearly captures emotional weakeness and kinda internal death. Really cool!
